FDA Approves Rayaldee For Chronic Kidney Disease

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has newly approved OPKO Health’s Rayaldee (calcifediol) capsules for the treatment of minor hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) in grown up with stage 3 or 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) and vitamin D insufficiency.Rayaldee capsules are a customized-release formulation of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (calcifediol) produce a new monotherapy.Kevin J. At 26 weeks, treatment with Rayaldee achieved at least a 30 percent reduction in plasma intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) in patients with stage 3 or 4 Chronic Kidney Disease CKD with SHPT and vitamin D insufficiency, compared to those treat with a placebo.
